08B382 Something is definately wrong or there's a typo besides *cow* (it's cowl or really known as the body plate). The VIN shows the letter "B" for Baltimore but the body plate (cowl tag) shows "R" for Arlington, TX. That's a no-no. Since I only have examples of Arlington plates and none for Baltimore I can't be certain which it is but it sure looks like the same schema as the Arlington plate. I'd double-check the VIN plate to see if the "B" is really a "R". The "102329" in the VIN is the sequential production number for the car. Yours was the 2,239 Chevelle built at whichever plant is correct. Given it's an August body, it's a very early model run car.

Would you be able to get a picture of both, by chance?

Anyway, the 5 numbers behind the "R" on the body plate are tracking numbers for the body itself. TR 704 is for Black Randel Cloth, Black Coated Fabric bench seat, 75 B is lower body color of Cranberry Red (75) and B is for a black vinyl top. 08B is August, 2nd week and the "382" are, again, internal plant data processing tracking numbers of no significance.

My mistake the letter in the vin is "R".I was in a hurry when i posted it. Iwas leaving for Super Chevy in Columbus that night. Dale I will get you a picture of both the vin and the cowl tag if you still want them. Is there any chance this could be a SS car?

Thanks WV Hillbilly
