OK found out alot of the stuff thanks to Dales Chevelle Stuff site. Thanks! Anyway, am I correct that if it was a 396/375 car it will NOT have a return fuel line? and if it is an original SS the rag joint will be different. Did they make a SS that did not have the gauge package with the tach or was that an option too? Also, no 396/375 car could have A/C right? Thanks.

Did they make a SS that did not have the gauge package with the tach or was that an option too? These were always extra cost options. Never were included with any engine or SS option. Probably a lot more SS came without gages then did.

BTW-Gages could be ordered on just about any model and were not exclusive to SS equipped cars.

Also, no 396/375 car could have A/C right? Correct, the A/C was not available on any solid lifer engines. The increased load the A/C placed on the engine and cooling system negated this option.

As for fuel line and steering joint, I have no idea.

I'm fairly sure the 325 and 350 had the return line 396/325 engine (http://www.chevellestuff.com/69velle/engines/silver_black_ss01.jpg) where the 375 did not.

This page (http://www.chevellestuff.com/69velle/misc_stuff.htm) has pictures of a SS and non-SS rag joint for the 69 (courtesy of Mr. Dean Call).
