Has anyone used the 70 chevelle disc brake proportioning valve and the metering valve without the rear valve? In order to do this, I was told to purchase the front to rear brake line for a 71-72 chevelle. The only problem is that this line has a larger fitting where it connects to the proportioning valve on the front of the frame. I also have a 71-72 proportioning valve which has the bigger inlet, but I would like to stay with the 70 components.

Anyone know of a fitting to adapt the 71-72 line to the 70 proportioning valve? If so, where did you get it and what is the technical description of it?

I am thinking that this is the type of fitting adapter I need going into the proportioning valve, but I need to go from smaller to larger, not sure if someone has done this already?

Hugh,
Use the fitting off the old 70 line. Cut the new line close to the flair and pull the fitting off and slide on the old 70 fitting, the line should be the same size. Now all you need to do is a double flair.

Good luck

Of Course!!! Thank you for simplifying this ordeal for me...sometimes things are much simpler than one first plans, but its usually the other way around.

I don't have the flaring tools, but called Advance Auto and they have them for customer use. I will like this much better than having an adapter.
