I finally got the broadcast sheets out of the inner fenders on my 69SS. Was able to get them out with a long flat piece of metal with a razor blade taped to the end of it, didn't have take anything apart. I was lucky to have one in each door so the info that was distroyed on one was legible on the other. Each of them had a glob of a putty like glue on the center of the backside that held them in place. Also notice that one of them had SS wrote on it in red grease pencil.

I also found the part number still readable on the drive shaft.

Just wanted to share this information with everyone.
Can anyone help with the information on the broadcast sheets, how do I decifer this information?

Thanks Chris

The pics aren't very readable. If you could send me a scan or a better picture, maybe I could help a bit more - like this one (http://www.chevellestuff.com/69velle/buildsheets/body_broadcast01.jpg)

Chris,

That's neat, I had a Body Broadcast sheet stuck on the inside of each of my car's front fenders too  I've had no luck on finding a Chassis Broadcast sheet, but I haven't looked everywhere yet.

If you go to Fred Aldrich's site (http://members.core.com/~faldrich/), you can see both the Body and Chassis Broadcast sheets for Jeff Norder's car decoded. That doesn't give the breakdown for all possible codes on the sheets, but you'll probably see some similarities.

I haven't looked anywhere else for the Build Sheet or the Chassie Broadcast sheet either. I did however take a look on top of the gas tank while changing out the sending unit. No luck on finding one in that location. I've heard that they are almost non existant on Kansas City cars though, still optimistic and will take some of the interior out one of these days to take a look. Will also post better pics mabey tomorrow when its not so late.

Chris, great find!! Hopefully you will run across the other broadcast sheet.

Fred did a great job of helping me out with decoding my sheets....check out the link Bill posted and you should find some useful info.

I was a lucky soul, the original owner neatly folded them and put them in the glovebox along with the rest of the paperwork. graemlins/beers.gif
