Hey everyone. A freind of mine has a 70 Chevelle, which has a 71 BBC in it. He told the guys at his local speed/machine shop the numbers on his head and they told him the heads were really rare. He told me what they are I told him no way, impossible, none made! Can you tell me what these numbers come back as

3994026

F2771
F2871

Thanks a lot
Chris

Is there any way to tell what car they camr from...assuming they are vette, but would like to make completely sure ( I know what you could be thinking and I agree with you, I just want to know for certain. )

Do the heads appear to match the engine block? Is the block a 71 LS6 4-bolt main? Is there a code on the block to indicate what it came out of? If the block came out of a Corvette then the heads probably did too. The engine could have been a crate engine also.

It is my freinds motor and he said the block was decked, therefor could not get the number by the alternator. I thought there were no LS6's built in 71, remember that there were vettes with them (188 or so)so maybe thats it. He doesn't care what it is, but he was told it was an LS6 from a Chevelle (none made) so I just wanted to see if it was a Corvette motor. Can you tell by the head numbers.
