I could use 3 belts at the front benchseat, was that ever an option and is the seat prepared for a direct bolt in ?

If so where can I buy the 3. belt

i have 3 front seat belts on my original 69 ss chevelle.that i have owned for over 20 years.i dont know if it was a opition or not. the date code on the belts are correct for the build of the car.i have 6 total 3 in the front and 3 in rear.as for where to buy them the best way is ebay

Our bench seat '69s came with three front seat belt sets and outboard shoulder belts. Three sets of seat belts in the rear.

I'm thinking 1968 for 6 seatbelts as standard?

I believe the center seatbelts shared the inner mounting bolts with the right and left belts. A center belt from a rear seat might work.

My 69n has 3 belts in the front with a bench seat but it also has an extra belt for the driver and passenger to attach to the shoulder belt. The shoulder belt did not share a female belt as they did in the 72 models. It is an awful lot of belts on the front bench seat.

I sent you a .pdf scan from the Fisher Body Manual that should help you out.

My 69 has 6 belts that come through the bench seat. 2 female buckles for the lap and shoulder belt, and 1 male/female buckle for the center.

I got a scan from Brian (thanks for that) That shows how it was mounted, I think the previous owner just took the center belt out. I will try install one today.

I am pretty sure that most or all of the bench seat '72s were 6-passenger, so you shouldn't have a problem getting them, and getting them bolted in.
