You have to be more specific about what you are talking about.

Sequence Numbers are what in your opinion?

0n the bottom of the cowl tag like mine has on one side 10A 002838 and then 100120 these are below the paint codes etc. the cars we looked at did not have any numbers below the paint codes etc

Not all assembly plants used the exact same format on the body tags. The model (136xx), paint, interior were generally the same and in the same place on the tag. Other information varied among plants. See the differences at my Chevellestuff site (http://www.chevellestuff.com).

dale, their are no numbers under the seat codes etc, this is the first time i've ever seen cars with no sequence numbers. i was told that the sequence for my 70 always started with 100000, these were also two 70's we were looking at, these numbers were'nt on there. thanks steel graemlins/clonk.gif

I think you are misinterpreting the sequence numbers.

The seq no that starts at 100001 are in the VIN. The numbers on the lower part of the tag are assembly plant processing numbers called the DP Seq No.

And yes, not all plants placed them on the lower portion of the trim tag, some only placed a partial. If you could provide the plant name then maybe we can shed more light on weather its common for that plant. The GMAD plants are the ones that used this, those that made more the one model line like Chevelle and GTO's etc.

Arlington (BT) and Flint (FL2) had no numbers, Atlanta (A) and Van Nuys (BL) have 2 sets of 6 numbers under the paint code, Baltimore (B) has 4 numbers under the paint code and Kansas City (K) ans 5 numbers immediately after the date and not directly under the paint code.

FWIW, the 70 sequence number started with 100001, not 100000. There was no '0' car. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
