086 ~ Data Processing code for internal assembly plant tracking. Of no significance unless you find the build sheet, then this number in block 24. It will verify the build sheet is for this car.

Thanx Dale. However, on the code 715 are you saying this decodes the car as a bench seat car? Because I actually did find the build sheet when I was redoing the carpet. It shows this car is being a factory console/bucket car.

Also what's the "Ant." stand for?

Unless there is the code "A51" behind the trim code, it should be bench seat. Some plants used the trim number plus "A52" to denote bench seats, some did NOT use the A52. In other words, if there is no A51 (RPO for bucket seats), it's assumed bench. Prior to '71, the trim numbers were different for bench and bucket seats even though some plants still used 'A' or 'B' to denote bench or bucket - the letters were redundant. Beginning with '71, the trim numbers could be used for both bench or bucket (e.g., 715) and buckets were indicated by 'A51' on the body plate.

'Ant.' is Antique.
