I notice this site doesn't have a forum classifieds section like Team Camaro....How come?.....I done about $1200 in car parts sales last year over at Team Camaro and also found and purchased the necessary parts I needed for my car!.....Wouldn't that be a good idea over here?

Are you talking about the Members classifieds at the bottom of the page at Team Camaro? If so, I think you also need to be a member here to get this sites members classifieds

No, I'm not talking about the members or the general classifieds.... Over at Team Camaro, there is a forum classifieds section for the general non-member population.....It's located between the Team Chevelle Cruiz-ins and Bug Hunt.

actually, we would be looking to separate the classifieds and forums further. Seems a lot of people can't tell the difference and keep posting their ads in the forums. ;)

Hi Tom - The classifieds forum came about on the Camaro site as a temp thing that wasn't intended to stick around. If I recall it was before we had paid membership and was setup as a way for folks to offer deals to others within the forums for spring cleaning.

Like here the goal is to not have any ads, buying or selling in the tech forums. What happened is we started moving the ads posted in the tech forums into the classified forum and it really made a difference. Kinda like "Current Events" helped control political posts in the forums, the classified forum has really slowed down ads in the tech areas. It's not ideal but a lot of guys don't give the classified area a try but do use the forum.

Why would you want a classified section, and a classified forum? I would rather have all the ads in one place. Maybe a bigger link to the classifieds on the home page? I have never heard of anyone having trouble finding them before.....

So do they. Both sites have the Free classifieds and Members only classifieds, but T Camaro also has a Forum Classified section which can only be seen when you are logged on. I actually kinda like that format a little better, although either way they're both only a click away. :thumbsup:

It really wasn't intentional and was a temp solution that ended up sticking around.

I still think there should be a forum classifieds section over here for the members to quickly view as they're browsing the other forum sections!.....When I log on @ Team Camaro, the first thing I check are my visitor views, to see how many dudes checked out my car, then I typically check the engine, tranny, electrical, performance and brake sections then the best part is checking out the forum classifieds for good deals on parts!....I sold and bought many parts from the forum members throughout the years!.....Moderators, you think you could have a talk with Al to have this done in addition to having visitor views on profile page?

It was suggested we try a link to the classifieds, so that was just done a few minutes ago. right under the welcome forum.

It might be a bit much having three ad sections, we already have forum classifieds for supporting members (private, more secure and greater confidence - rarely any complaints) and the main classifieds with hundreds of ads and it's possible to directly upload photos to the ads whereas a forum classified would not typically do that.

Visitor views? ah, maybe I know what you mean - who has viewed your profile? The guys here really didn't like that as it seemed someone was snooping so we turned it off.
