The seat belt retractor on my 1972 Chevelle does not retract any more - Does anyone know if there is a way to repair it (rewind the spring) or where I can find another one? I was looking in the OPG and Ecklers catalogs and they have them for 1964 - 1966 but not for 1972.

The 72 Fisher Body Manual says not to attempt any repairs to the retractor.

They are nicknamed exploders for a reason... :D I had one that I tried to rewind, ended up throwing it in the trash. Beware of looking on Ebay, they have different ends than the 68-71's. :yes: They need to have the slots for the shoulder belts.
