Guys, I need a little help determining some starter numbers, can't seem to find a source.

One starter is off a 69 SS Ragtop and believed to be the original: 1107367 4 M 4

The other is off a 70 LS6 and I'm sure it's a rebuilt replacement and most likely not correct: 1108430 8 G 152 (the 8 prior to the G might be a 0 or a C)

If you know where to point me to a site that breaks down the numbers I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

I have some info on Chevelle starters at my ChevelleStuff site - Links > Quick Decoding > Starter Motors. Data was supplied by an old NCOA article.

The one on the 70 is correct - 350 w/4bbl, 402, 454, w/automatic transmission - #1108430/

The other doesn't appear to be a Chevelle but a rebuilt unit with another housing that happens to fit a Chevelle. A 69 396 starter should be #1108418.

Dale,

Thanks, we looked on your site but not hard enough apparently.
