Reading up all i can about redoing bucket seats before i tackle mine..
I keep seeing people refer to putting garbage bags or plastic over the foam before sliding on the covers... Then pulling it back out.
How does this work? Doesn't the garbage bag just rip when you pull it back out?
Is the bag only spread over part of the seat or what?
Thanks-
Ben

Fold the bag in half and lay it over the cushion. Leave the 2 edges of the bag hanging out so you can get ahold of it. Once the cover is on pull on the half against the cover, not the half against the cushion. The bag will unfold and slide out. No mine didn't rip when I did it.

the bags work great for removing and installing tires on wheels. the bags are pretty slippery.
The covers won't slide easily over the seat buns with the seat buns being the sticky part. Another trick which doesn't work quite well as the trash bags is to spray the seat buns with cooking spray like Pam. Maybe you could do that in any areas where you wont be able to put the trash bags.

For the bottom cover after I had hog ringed down the seams I used 3 bags. I folded one up and slid it in the center of the seat from the front. I folded one for each side and layed them on the cushion. It is the across the front and the 2 front corners that are hardest. With the bags in place the cover slipped on pretty easily. I should mention the steel bar in the center of the rear of the cover was already hog ringed in before trying to pull the front on.
