I just purchased a 1972 Malibu. It has the 350 engine. I am in the process of "cloning" an SS by adding an SS hood, stripes and emblems. My question is whether a functional cowl induction hood was an option available in 1972 for a vehicle with the 350 engine. Much of the literature I have read, including some articles posted on this site, suggest that in 1972 the functional cowl hood was available only in vehicles with the 400 or 454 engine. However, I have not found any definitive answer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

In 72 the SS option was available with a 350 engine and cowl induction.
