The weather is a bit marginal but I am looking to lift the curse.....
I may not have all the goodies on that I want...but I'll risk imperfect track times rather than continued shame. TOG may just beat up on me this time.....

Rain or shine I will be there . The one thing I have learned about Bremerton is that it has Its own weather :D. Last year people bailed because of rain and even snow, but the track was dry and fine at the beginning of the season.

Just got back in from a little bit of testing still have a few bugs(bogs) to work out but it looks promising. I should be able to make 13's regardless of the track conditions ;).

Just in from my shop. Valves set, intake, carb, valve covers on, distributor and plugs in, water pump on. Hook up wires and wiring tomorrow, fill with water and water wetter, juice the battery, jam in some race gas, pi$$ off my neighbors. I've been good for a week.

If all satisfactory, I'll be tnt'ing in Victoria on Sunday the 12th. Iron out the bugs, and hair straight back with you psycho's on the 24th.

Can't wait. :beers:

I will be there in the 68... Probably won't make a full pass but need to get some Virgin launches in and check the drive feel.. Should be ok but still quick with the little Berg Mouse tugging her down the track.... Don't laugh at the crappy paint though.... Many new scratches and chips.... but ....If I like how it drives.... I'll put one of the Big Blocks laying around in it and paint it the same as the 69... have a Big & Little Brother Chevelle Family....

Gates open at 3 and racing starts about 4ish. You can either take the Edmonds Kingston ferry or drive around the tacoma narrows bridge. I think the exit is oldbunk road? Or something like that. Someone with better info should be on or just call Brian.

If somebody can or was planning on it anyway, a dial back timing light would be awesome  I don't have a dial back, and will probably be driving to the track on 'good enough' timing to get there. Would really like to see what she likes and reacts best with :D

I'll have mine too. Thats why we race together. Last time Kevin gave me a pair of jets that I needed, and i gave Brian a bowl gasket. It's a team thing.

Sounds good  You guys have to keep in mind, this is my first time on a track, ever. I'm still learning :D But I really do appreciate all the help that I've gotten so far and I know that I'll continue to get. Couldn't find a better bunch of guys than we've got here

Anybody else catching the 12:45 ferry from Seattle? If you are, I'm sure you'll see me and TW lol Kind of hard to miss her :noway:

Also, what does it cost to get in? And does it need to be cash?

1966malibu
Apr 10th, 09, 11:22 AM
Chad if I remember right, It is $25 for a Fri. TNT. You also need to get a Bremerton # which is $10? and it good for the season. Also they like cash .

Looking at the radar, It appears as Portland is finally drying out. Maybe it will start here in a couple of hours? The rain is coming out of the SE which sucks for Bremerton this sometimes causes the clouds to back up against the Olympics :(.

Brian how is the weather up at Bremerton right now? You are our local weatherman you know;).

It's been mostly misting/slight rain here since about 3:30am. My father in-law drove past the track at 8:30 and said it was dry at the airport. I'll check in around 12:00-12:30 again.

Just in from the garage and getting Her running a little better...Even at 1.5k rpms, she'll drop all the way down to 500 in drive. Going to add some more fuel and get the other cars out of the driveway since when I barely even tapped the gas with my foot on the brake in drive, She started jumping all over the place.

I really need to come up with a new name...She's a whole different car now :D

More initial timing will help a bunch. Where's it at right now. Should be around 16 800 RPM's.

Are you bringing it to Bremerton, we'll help you tune that carb and timing in pretty quick.

This is a great offer Chad! It looks easy watching someone tune an engine as it's not a lot of work really, but it takes a lot of experience to get it just right. You'll come to find a lot of cars that race regularly could really benifit from proper tuning and are leaving some hp on the table. Daryl is the man at this I think, years of racing in a straight line and in circles, building engines ect. It's probably like second nature to him:thumbsup:

She'll be there and I'm always more than welcoming when it comes to help as I'm still not 100% comfortable with my own tuning abilities as you probably saw in my 'shaking' video for the initial start up lol

The silicones holding up pretty well so far btw on that cover  We'll see how it holds up after I go for a drive.

Just got back from a reasonably 'spirited' test run. Couldn't get on it too hard since it's damp out, but the wheel hop is a whore  Hopefully some dry pavement will help, but she wouldn't even spin the tires at a stand still without hopping around like a jack rabbit on crack.

Not a leak in sight though, not even from the front of the pan where all the silicone got gooped in there. She's ready and drivable. When you guys get ahold of her, she'll be even better :D

Chad just came over, we set the timing but something is strange with his balancer, it bounces all over the place and hard to get a good reading. We moved it over a tooth and have it much more advanced than it was. Was running about 8 degrees before.

It's lightly raining here on and off again, I'm about 12 miles from the track at work, it's up to you guys if your coming out. Who knows what it's going to do at the track. I'm still going to drive up there after work but it dose not look good right now.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just got home from work but stopped by the track on the way. I think Jim is in trouble. I'll try and post a video because I'm heading back in a few minutes to tape another pass. Hopefully it is as awesome as the one I just saw.

Berg carried the wheels for about 100 ft and I think he tripped the lights with his rear tires. That new motor he's testing before it goes in the 67 nova is awesome. Mid 9's and no bottle yet, very impressive.
