I have a 67 Chevelle I bought 2 years ago It was pretty much finished undercarraige interior engine and engine compartment and it was painted.Every thing was done great except the paint it was a single stage do it youself job,the quarters were wavy dents in roof rust bubbles in doors and more looked good from 20 feet. Being recently retired my budget wasnt great. A guy I worked with told me to see abody shop in the area that did his. I stopped in December and he gave me a quote that was in my budget and we set a date in early Jan.He said work was slow so 3 to 4 weeks. Well 1st week nothing was done then it was dissassembled then repairs were started seemed like much wasnt being done.Well to speed up the story, car was painted today it is straight as an arrow. Seems like the owner took a liking to the car and treated it like his own. He also reccomended putting on a new quarter he fixed every dent ding ,epoxy primed it then hand blocked it. The did 2 more prime and blockings. He removed and replaced windshield. He put a sealer on 4 coats of basecoat 3 coats of clear. What Im getting at a good job is worth waiting for. Also good jobs can be had for a fair price. When he is done sanding buffing,he will do wheel wells and detail the car. My wife was so impressed she is giving him a 500.00 tip I feel like I got a job that was worth thousands more then I paid for. I know that this goes against threads that say you must pay 10 to 15k for a good job. I say look around at cars and if you see one that looks good ask where it was done .Took me 2 years to get it done but I am one Happy owner
