Hoping someone can help with what I think are date codes on exterior door mirrors. I have two mirrors (one I want to restore) and one NOS. Numbers on mirror as follows.
1) 8-MHI-1

2) 6-DCA R (r is circled) -1

Any insite on these codes would be great. Thanks Norman

The coding for mirrors is as follows...
Month, manufacturer, year. First one is August of 1971, and the second is June 1971. Unsure of the manufacturer. The only one I know is DMI, Donnelly Mirror Inc.

Thanks Dave, I figured the 1 was a julian date for year. I guess the hunt is still on for a 0. Do you know if the mirror portion can be removed and reinstalled in another unit?? Norman

I believe so, it's not easy to do, IIRC...
