Hey guys- can you help me with a build sheet?
And/ or where is the info for the boxes on build sheets?
I found the info for RPO items, but not the individual boxes on the BS.

70 SS 396 car
Box 26 top- BLU
Box 44 Color- 28- C - W --
Box 67 Inst Cluster- GA

Where on the Build Sheet do you confirm/ what is the code for Cowl Induction Hood with flapper?
Box 55 Air Cleaner is "SS"
TIA.

Cowl Induction is ZL2 - Special ducted hood

It should listed Alphabetically in the lower portion with all the other RPO's as would D88 - Hood and deck lid stripes

Box 26 top- BLU Means car has a blue top
Box 44 Color- 28- C - W --
lower color is 28 - Fathom Blue
C means top color is Blue Vinyl
W - means the stipes are White
-- means no wheel color to paint, rally wheels
Box 67 Inst Cluster- GA
is the broadcast code for the instrument cluster. GA is code for standard cluster, U14 gauges would be GU

Interesting-
D88 is not listed with the other RPOs at the bottom, but the W means white stripes.

What about box 55- SS?
ZL3 is listed at the bottom, but not ZL2.
It appears to be the original set up on the car.
Thanks for the help. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Concensus in the past has been:

With ZL2 hood, stripes were standard and if you didn't want them, it'd be ordered as 'Stripe Delete'.

Without ZL2 hood, stripes were optional and if you wanted them, it'd appear on the build sheet (normally alphabetically) as D88.

Also have to be careful with some of the boxed codes as plants differed. Using documented SS cars from Atl, KC, Balt, and Arlington plants show interesting differences.

Box 55:
DG seems to be the code for any CI hood (ZL2)
SS seems to be the code for any NON CI
One exception is a Baltimore LS6 w/o CI with a 'CO' code.

--------------------------
IP codes (67) and tach codes (72) appear NOT to be that standard.

Atlanta for boxes 67/72
GA/--- w/o U14, no tach (L34, LS5, and LS6)
GG/--- w/o U14, no tach (LS5 and L34)
GK/983 w/U14 option (LS6)
GR/938 w/U14 option (LS5) (http://www.chevellestuff.com/70velle/buildsheets/atlanta/bs_atl_paul.jpg) [might be a typo from the factory but it's very clear]

Baltimore for boxes 67/72
GA/--- w/o U14, no tach (L34, LS5, and LS6)
GK/983 w/U14 (LS6 and L78)
GG/--- w/o U14, no tach (LS5 and LS6)

Kansas City for boxes 67/72
GA/--- w/o U14, no tach (L34)
GK/985 w/U14 (L34, LS5)
GK/983 w/U14 (LS6)

Arlington for boxes 67/72
GK/983 w/U14 (LS6)

Van Nuys for goxes 67/72
GA/--- w/o U14, no tach (L34)
GG/--- w/o U14, no tach (L34)

I can't find a GU instrument panel code on any SS car with or without the U14 gauge option.

Kansas City car.
No D88 listed. But the W in box 44 means white stripes?

Kansas City for boxes 67/72
GA/--- w/o U14, no tach (L34)
That looks right. Interesting stuff.
Thnaks.

Thnaks. Does seem odd. A non-CI car was without stripes (standard and a $68.50 option) but it shows a white stripe code. The four codes in block 44 are LW (lower paint), UP (upper paint), ST (stripe color), and W (wheel color).

Wouldn't want to share a readable scan or digital photo of it by chance? Always on the lookout for oddities.
