I bought a new AC Delco fuel pump #40727 for my 1966 Chevelle 396/360hp engine, 4-speed. There is a "022" on one side of the fuel pump. There is a rebuilt 1966 AC Delco fuel pump on Ebay #40193 which they say is off a 1966 engine, and they can't find a date code. I just bought a CD from Mike Crown, but I probably won't get it until next week sometime. The Ebay auction ends Thursday morning. Is the fuel pump I bought correct or is the one on Ebay correct or are they both wrong?
Thanks,
Bob

Don't know if the 'type' encompasses all the years and models shown or not. There are similar spreads of years and part numbers before a 'type' shows up. Whether these 'type' numbers are grouped (like are the 5 part numbers above it the same 'type') or the single application/part number they follow is uncertain.
FWIW, my GM book doesn't show a 40193, but that's not unusual - AC Delco part numbers change just like GMs did.

That GM part number on your schedule matches up with the one I bought. They say it's listed as working on a '66/'67 high performance Chevelle, but I don't want a '72 fuel pump that works for a '66 if I can get a correct one. The 40193 might be for a '66 car, but I'll do a little more research to find out if it's specifically for a '66 high perf Chevelle.
Thanks

The guy at CPU Muscle Car Parts told me (withough prompting) that the correct AC Delcom part number for an L34 engine in 1966 is 40193.
