Hi guys, could you please run these head numbers for me? They are off my 454 BBC.

These were very hard to find (due to fire, story in Bench Racing) so I hope they turn out to be something good. I am assuming that the J81 74 stands for November 8, shift 1, 1974? I have no idea though. Thanks for any help,

i wouldnt spend a lot of money on them. they will be ok for lowend torque but fall flat in performance rpm range. they are 215 hp 2 bolt main block heads. go to www.nastyz28.com/bbcmenu.htm (http://www.nastyz28.com/bbcmenu.htm) lots of big block numbers there for you graemlins/beers.gif

Thing is they are already on the car. They pull great in the low end, and keep pulling all the way to 6000 (as far as I am willing to take it). The guy who built the motor (before I bought it) said it was built to either the 427/435 (with 454cid of course) or the LS7 specs. Is it possible to get that much power out of them?

sorry about link . click on nastyz28 link . then click on numbers decoding. lots and lots of small block numbers there and some great bb numbers there also. now back to your heads. i never said that your motor is not strong. i have no clue what has been done to your heads already. for torque you have some great heads. graemlins/waving.gif

I wasn't accusing you of calling my motor slow, jsut was wondering if its possible for it to be fast with those heads. I now believe that it has been worked and are definately ported. Thanks for all your help guys.
