I have 4 wheels and tires for sale on TC and Craigs. I have been in contact with a guy in Utah that found them on Craigs, I am in Alabama. After many emails I feel the guy is on the up with wanting them says for a 71 he is re-doing. So today I go to UPS and Fed-ex to get him the best shipping price. The best price is UPS $225.40.
The Buyer thanked me for my trouble in the shipping cost and wants to send me the agreed upon wheel cost and then send me the shipping cost once he receives the wheels. My gut says maybe but I have been burnt on a western saddle I sold one time where I did almost the same but in the end got shorted $45 bucks. I can see his concern but I see mine too. The shipping is almost what the wheel/tire cost was so if for some reason I don't get it I would have been better off just lowering my sale price and sold local.

Revised since posted:
Since I posted this several things have happened: The guy in UTAH wants to send me everything now but $75.00 and after this a guy called me from Ga. and wants to drive over to Al on Thu and pickup for $25 more that Utah buyer. I emailed the Utah guy and told him this not expecting him to match but seeing how he will respond. If he replies back that he will send all I will let them go for the price I told him, the $25 does not mean that much to me to back out of the deal.

I would not send them without full payment, especially considering you have been burned before. Email the buyer some pictures if he is concerned about the condition of the wheels and tires....

Is there a way they can be shipped and paid for upon arrival by the purchaser? Also, can you do the legwork and packing, but have him go to a ups place and pay the bill? I know with the tracking info, they produce a specific number code. Maybe you can deliver the tires to the depot, and purchaser can pay from his end.

Full payment upfront. Remind the guy Craigslist is mainly for local person to person sales and not long distance stuff. JMO
