Where exactly can I find the casting numbers on my BB heads? I assume I need to remove valve covers? I need to replace intake manifold so I need to find out if I have oval or rectangular port heads? Also will a performer rpm fit under a 70 cowl hood alright? Sorry for all of the newbie questions.

No it was not. I believe there were only a handful of hugger orange 70's produced.

I have a Performer RPM intake on the 454 in my 70. Tons of clearance. I used a 1 1/4" drop base air cleaner on it as well and still have plenty of room. The only issue I saw is putting the intake fitting in. Due to the high rise, you can't put in the one that belongs in there. The nipple extensions on the fitting hit the tunnel. The casting number on the head will also tell you if it is a rectangle port or not.
