Ok, I saw your second post with the rest of the tag info (you could have simply edited the original) ;) but here goes.

k116711bdy 62 62 pnt 04d04253 the vin is 136801k194607 engine to40cpb it is burnt orange black interior with a black top.On the body plate:
K is for Kansas City
116711 is the Fisher Body number
62 62 PNT is lower and upper body paint color ~ Burnt Orange
04D ~ April, 4th week (approximate date of build)
04253 ~ internal data processing numbers most likely and of no consequence now.

VIN:
1 ~ Chevrolet
36 ~ 36 - Malibu, Custom El Camino, Concours, 8-cylinder
80 ~ 2-door sedan pickup
1 ~ 1971 model year
K ~ Kansas City assembly
194607 ~ sequence built number starting with 100001. Includes ALL Chevelle models for the KC plant that year - your's was the 94,607th Chevelle off the line at KC in 1971.

Engine:
T ~ Tonawanda, NY assembly plant
040'x' ~ should be another NUMBER in there for the month (first two) and day (last two)
cpb ~ Engine suffix code telling size/hp/trans type/etc. I don't see a CPB for any Chevelle. Either the letters weren't read correctly or it's not a Chevelle engine (hence, not original). Is it a big block or small block? Check the alphanumerics again and look at this page (http://www.chevellestuff.com/generic/all_engine_codes.htm) to see if you can find them.

the cpb would be a 140 horse 305ci from 1976 or a 267ci from 1980 camaro but most likely a 305.
