I have been cleaning up my new aquistion and writing down the engine casting numbers. I was told the engine was not orignal, so I am investigating what it could be. It's a 350. What is left of the air cleaner decal looks like it says 'turbo fire 350'.

Here is what I have for the engine.

Block Casting 3970014 , puts is at a 350 70-76 two or 4 bolt. Very greasy and had to scrub to get that casting to show up.

Engine pad has stamped: 13B0488796 T1222CKJ.

Any takers for ID'ing?

Head casting 39783487, with date B221. Mortec makes is a 71-72 350 LT1.

Intake casting 3965577, had a large R, and T, GM8, and conv3 on it. Still is very greasy , so maybe more numbers elsewhere. Also seemed different than other intake manifolds. It had these raised edges where the intake meets the heads. Hmmm....

Carb stamped 7040202. Puts it at a 1970 quad jet.

Thanks. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
