I picked up a new motor today, appears to be a 4 bolt main, 3969854 block.

But here is my puzzler, it has two different casting numbers of heads. One is a 3964291, which is a easily found on Mortec.

The puzzling one is a casting number 3819840 with a date code of A-29-9. I can't find any reference to this on mortec or anywhere on the internet.... Anyone seen this one before????

I think you are right, it almost has to be a 3919840. The application and date match to that listing. The number sure looks like an 8 but I think it must just be how the casting came out....
