My neighbor asked me if I'd like to see some old cars this elderly friend of his has. I took him up on the offer and am glad I did. This guy has a 72 Javelin, 58 Nash , 57 Willys jeep and a few others that are all original 1 owner survivors and he 's thinking about selling them but dont know what they'd be worth. I may be interested in the Javelin. It still has the original tires on it and all the paper work is there and in order. I just dont know what to offer. I didnt get the mileage for sure. One of the cars has 48oo miles and another has 14000, I just cant remember what the Jav had. Im going back Monday with my camera and a little more knowledge. I might make him an offer. Ill let you know when I do.

You're more than welcome but I dont want to push him away yet. I want to get to know him a little first and not seem pushy or anxious. Like I said he's considering selling but hasnt decided yet. If I find out he's ready to sell I'd definitely take you along . I surerly cant buy them all. Even if he's not selling I can always take you to see them and dream.

I have no clue as to the $$, but I am pretty sure that Jeep will fetch a nice sum. Something that old in close to original condition would be desirable.

bring $10,000.00 cash, and buy them all, you would be doing the guy a favor, but be nice

I wish it would go that smooth. I can't beleive no one else has discovered these cars. I will definitely get pics on Mon. I have to work, pick my son up from football practice at 4 , meet my daughter to cosign a loan before 5 but I will definltely find time for pics if I have to leave work early. Talked to a friend in Az. tonight who is into Amc's and he hooked me up with the people to supply me with the info I need to go bargain so I will be ready.

I got to go through a car collection up in Minneapolis years ago that a guy had AND I don't know how many cars he had or even how many buildings he had that housed them.

It was so neat to see dam near new old cars that I figure were actually bought new and two to four years later traded in on another new one!

Like from 1950 on up to I don't remember???

There is a blown (big block if I remember correctly) metropolitan that sits in a shop near my house. Tubbed, wheelie bars, etc... Saw it a car show last summer and just stood there wondering "WHY"? Definitely an eye catcher!

My buddy put a Toyota 22R into a Metro so he'd have something reliable to tow behind his motorhome. :D Fits great, went from a 3 on the tree to a 4 spd OD auto and doubled the HP!

the question was, Why Not? :D that just sounds cool
I was thinking of a small block in a metropolitan back in 81 / 82 so my sense of cars might be a bit perverse

Kevin, I wish you luck with the find and hope that you could buy them all  Oh, I don't want to go though, sounds too crowded already ;)

My cousin had a Metropolitan that he put a 327 and powerglide in back in the late 60s, it made a great driver.
