aluminum band around the collar of distributor #is 1110920 7M26 anyone know what year this is?

The number doesn't match a Chevelle distributor (http://www.chevellestuff.com/generic/distributor_numbers.htm) but could easily be a passenger car, Corvette, Camaro, Nova, etc. 7M26 is 1967, December 26 so it'd be for a 1968 model year Chevrolet and could be from a small block as SBC and BBC distributors are the same except tall block truck engines.

Is it a cast iron dist or an aluminum one?

Steelworker is outta town,I have the dist, it is cast iron.My books show for 1958 full size 283 and 348. Mike
