Hi Everyone, this is my 1st post. I have a 71 Chevelle with a 402. The car has an aftermarket hi-rise intake and I want to put an original intake back on it.

I found one on eBay- the casting number is 3855287. The description says he "thinks" it's for a 71 Chevelle 402. Here is the the LINK (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2482701643&category=34202&sspagename=WDVW) to the intake I'm looking at.

I'm not going for a 100-pt. resto- I just want it to be like it was way back when. Can anyone confirm that this is the correct part?

Did he post the wrong numbers? there is a 3955287 that is listed for a 1970-71 402ci, 300,330,350hp LS-3, and was also used on 454ci, 360,365,390hp
I didn't find a 3855287 listed for a BBC anywhere.

He may have read the number wrong. The casting numbers can be difficult to read sometimes. The 9 on mine looks like an 8 too. That is the correct intate for a 71 BB...

No wonder I couldn't find that number anywhere. I emailed him and asked if the 2nd number was actually a 9.
