I have just acquired this 64. and have everything identified on the Cowl tag, except for the ACC that reads ACC: E 5V

I have found that this still has the original 283, but I want to know if it originally came with the 4-speed now in it.

Any Help would be appreciated

These are option codes by group group 1
E - A01 1964-67 Tinted Glass - ALL
5 = group 5
V - A37 1964- Seat Belts

I would expect to find a L in Group 2 if it originally had a 4-speed, or an M if it originally had a powerglide. If there is no code in Group 2 then it is most likely the standard equipment 3-speed on the column. 1964 283 engine codes might indicate a 3-spd or 4-spd.

Check the hole for the shifter, Does it look original?
