Getting ready to purchase my 17x8 and 17x9.5 wheels for my 70Malibu.
I'm seriously considering the VWW V45 wheels, 2 pc. construction.
Further to that, anyone who is AND also is running SC&C ST.2+ front uppers & HOWE BJs, do you know how much that conversion will narrow your front wheels overall track width? I know the upper BJ is moved approx. 0.5 inch inboard of stock position, so I'm concerned about backspace of these wheels to avoid rubbing my 245/45/17 NITTO front rubber.:(
Thanks in advance for the feedback. Also FYI, link to my front suspension mods. showing the SC&C ST.2 + uppers.
regards,
Duane

I have the V-40's on my Camaro and I have friends that run the V-45's.
I have that same setup as you're considering but I cannot comment on your specific application.
I will say they make a very high-quality product with excellent customer service, you'll be very happy for years to come with your purchase.

To confirm, are you running 17s on your A body? Did you purchase their standard backspacing, or the optional (I think 6mm) offset? I've got data gleaned from this forum and the tire/wheel living matrix that I believe shows 4.5 and 5.5 backspace front/rear. I'm concerned that the 4.5 backspace may rub inboard with the narrowed front track of the SC&C.
Glad to hear about the quality and your satisfaction with VWW. :D

Hey Duane...
I have 17s, but not the VWWs. I will tell you your 8" fronts at 0mm offset (4.5" backspace) will be OK with SC&C stage2+. I have fit 9.5" wide on 5.5" backspace 275/40 series with no rubbing, inboard or outboard on my '69 A-body which is same suspension as your 70, just differing fenders. I am also running the stage2+ howe tall BJs.

Hey Dan,
Good news! While mine is sitting on my old steel rallies right now, and no front brakes (won't clear the 14 wheels) so I don't have any driving feedback from all my changes. I'm not a 100% on the VWW V45s just yet, as that will be my last purchase. I'm really looking forward to a driving test with my new suspension front and rear, Hellwig bars, Bilsteins, and the 17 wheels with my NITTO 555 rubber. I hope I don't even recognize how she drives!
FYI, I'm attaching the link to my project pics :D
