I have been able to find where a 18x10 with 6" back space will work on a 66 rear with 295s but the wheel I want is only available in 18x9.5. What backspace should I order 5.75?

If they would have been centered before at 10" wide with a 6" backspace, then yes - 5.75"BS on a 9.5" wide wheel.
