: pigging out
Andy69 Mar 29th, 09, 8:16 PM OK, I'm about 30 heavier than I should be, and I'm trying to get down, because I think it will help my riding (bicycle), and also because I've never been fat and don't want to start now, but dog gone it, I worked in the yard all day (raking the back with a thatch rake), raked up a mound about 6 feet high and 6 feet wide, and I'm tired and hungry, and I'm going to eat pizza and drink Blue Moon until I pass out. Dog gone it.

He may need a "Sand Paper Diet" !
savage71chevelless Mar 29th, 09, 8:58 PM go get some Rendezvous ribs, thats the ticket

I had some Rendezvous last week when my dad and nephews came down. It tasted good. But, I can tell you, the locals go elsewhere :)
dyno jonn Mar 30th, 09, 12:38 AM The most effective exercise to lose weight involves moving your rear end. The gluteus maximus is the largest muscle and burns the most calories. Walking, jogging, running and especially climbing stairs will get you more results than riding a bicycle, and swimming is nearly useless.
Just stay out of the traffic. Staying in shape isn't worth getting your a** runned over for..... ;)
ssal396 Mar 30th, 09, 9:28 AM I'm with you Andy, I have been wanting to drop 20 lbs for YEARS now but I just can't seem to shake it!! Oh well, at least it's not going the other way..

I agree, the last THREE times I went to the Rendezvous with out of town people I said to myself I would not be back, so maybe he is right, go to the Rendezvous and you will loose weight.
the heckler Mar 30th, 09, 9:50 AM Got to agree with dyno jonn response. I am an avid mountain biker and occassional road rider. Seems like since I turned 45 y/o the pounds just don't go away. Diet is my main problem. Being a suthuner there are just too many great barbeque joints around town and such. Not a big fan of Memphis style bbq but you know what I mean. Few years back I lost some pounds by eating a bowl of cereal for breakfast, slim fast shake for lunch, then an almost sensable dinner (by non-suthun standards- ha) then jogging 3 times a week. Still hit the trails on the weekends and it worked for me...

Joining the rest of us in the group I see andy69.
the thing about working out is that your body gets use to the level of burning calories over time so then you have to do more and more and more so there is no time for anything else but working out.
so weight loss is futile you will never win to win at weight loss you have got to totally chang youe life style or so I have been told.
my doctor says you got drink less and eat more of the correct foods and leafy greens.
they don't taste good to mee and I only have two or three beers/ drinks on the weekend and I am still 30 pounds over weight by the charts
well i am just about to the point of #$%^&* charts
by the way hows the scooter going for that little girl of yours?
Andy69 Mar 30th, 09, 11:14 AM Actually, the combo of biking, weights, and whatever else I can throw in (like shoveling dirt, digging holes or raking) works pretty well as long as I can keep it up. My problem is my work schedule. This week we're leaving for two weeks of 12 hour days in Texas.
I haven't started on the scooter yet.
