I have a 68 Chevelle, the front coil springs I took off it have a tag of GA 3937822 Can anyone tell me what this means? For Big Block? Small Block? Lowered? Original?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

The coil springs, and their relative codes and part numbers, were all relative to the weight of the vehicle including all options.
If you go to this page (http://www.geocities.com/don111ca/page995.html) on my website you will see all the information relative to 69's. I would assume 68's would have a similar breakdown.
Hope this helps a bit.

Hello Kellogg,
I think you can also get this info from the info/restoration package that Chevrolet sends you for free for your car. I think that's where I saw those numbers....

Al I'm doubtful about the information being in the restoration package, but it is all spelled out in the assembly manual.
