does a 1966 chevelle have the vin number stamped by the blower somewhere?

I've heard that the VIN can be found "inside" the heater / AC box on the firewall side on "A" bodies. I'm just not sure that the entire number or just the prefix would be there.

VIN derivative would be;

6B123456

123456 are your last 6 digits of VIN, they never stamped a complete VIN.

I wouldn't count on it for a 66, 67 yes, but don't get your hopes on a 66 ;)

Wasnt trying to play with your words I just was looking to clarify your post.

Look at this thread , I posted some images of where there are located. But the car in the pictures El Camino is reffering too in the other post is NOT a 1966 Chevelle (cowl area looks much different)...
