Anyone ever ship a complete rear? Does it exceed weight limit for UPS? TIA Mike

I just weighed a 12 bolt axle assembly for the purpose of shippingit and it came in at 155 pounds with no brakes. I think that UPS can handle anything up to 100 pounds. The housing and gears without the shafts came in at 125 pounds. So it does not look like UPs can so much good for a housing.

UPS takes up to 150 lbs, but the price is really high when you get over 70 lbs. Yuo will have to ship it by truck, I'm sure.

Don't forget when shipping by truck there is usually a $100 minimum then a $35 residential fee. It is usually cheaper to drive to where it is at or find one near you.

I shipped a complete 10 bolt 3.42 posi and turbo 400 via Yellow Freight. They both exceeded the UPS max weight. They put them together on a pallet and metal banded them. I think it cost around $100 to go from Kentucky to Florida. I saved some money by picking them up at the local Yellow Freight terminal as opposed to door to door delivery.
