Can't help with the engine casting number...is there a stamped number on the pad in front of the passenger side head? Should show engine assembly plant, a 4-digit month/day code, and a 2-letter suffix code.

Model 5635 ~ V8 Malibu, 4-door wagon, 2 seat (15,011 produced)
Paint W ~ Diplomat Blue Metallic #2 (Canada only color)
Body # is the Fisher Body unit unit
A01 ~ Body Glass, Tinted (all)
A33 ~ Tail Gate Window Electric Control
A49 ~ Front Seat Belt (With Retractors) (Use with RPO A63 - less rear seat belt)
B70 ~ Roof Drip Molding
C14 ~ 2-Speed W/S Wiper and Washer
G80 ~ Rear Axle - Positraction
L77 ~ L77 4 barrel carb, 283-220 hp
M35 ~ Powerglide Transmission
P01 ~ Wheel Trim Cover
P61 ~ 7.75-14 W/W
U63 ~ Radio - Push Button
V81 ~ could this be V31? That'd match for Front Bumper Guard
VIN:
4 ~ 1964
5635 ~ V8 Malibu, 4-door wagon, 2 seat
O (letter, not number) ~ Oshawa, Ontario
59179 ~ Sequential production number. U.S. plants started with #100001 but maybe Oshawa was different.
Looks like a very well optioned car indeed! V8-4 bbl, posi, etc.
I'd sure like to see and use a photo of the body plate (trim tag)! Don't have a '64 from Oshawa. U.S. built 64s also had a 3-digit code for paint where Canada used a letter (like U.S. built 65 and up).

what is the number cast at the rear of the engine just before the bellhousing flange. If you could find and post it, someone such as Dale can tell you.

834466630 does not fit. Are you sure you are not combining two sets of code together?

I thought the Canadian Vin# ID plant codes were always "numbers" (0,1,or 2). The use of the letter O for 64 and prior I show as Oakland , Ca?

There is no 3834812 but there is a 3864812 being a 1963-64 Chevrolet 283 casting used in Passenger, Truck, Chevelle
