I found buildsheet on top of my gas tank, I have the tank removed.

The sheet is folded-up, I tried to remove it from the tank, but it started to fall apart, so before I go any farther:

Is there a way to remove it, w/o damaging it further?

This is important to me, because there is no tag on the door jamb. So I want to know what options are on this 1970 elcamino.

My thought would be to get it damp or even wet. It has been plenty wet in the past I'm sure. I would mist it with a spray bottle a couple of times over a period of an hour or two and then try to gently remove it and lay it out flat to dry. I found mine behind the lower doglegs of the front fenders. One side was more intact than the other and they saw their share of moisture.

You might try "Goo Gone". Before I did it, I'd take some similar printed document and soak it with the stuff. I don't think it would hurt the print but a test would tell for sure. It will release any glues that may be holding it to the tank. You could then unfold and press it with a book on top, then saran wrap, then the build sheet and on the back side have paper towels to soak up the liquid.

JMO, if the sheet is that frail, I would preserve the sheet and sacrifice the tank, cut it out.

I don't have an answer for you but if you don't get a good answer here, you might repost the question on tag team. Another option is Corvetteforum.com. I know that this topic has been covered there in great detail.

Thanks for the replies.:beers:

I was able to just pry it off, very, very slowly.:D

I cant unfold it though, it just cracks.

I can read some of it, I know that is was a 4 barrel 350 w/ T-350. Also it had a push button AM radio. N0 8-track.:(:D Sold to Hovey Dallas Chevrolet in Gardena, California.

Size, I thought about that.:D

I think it was rat pee that glued it to the tank, because the top of it was covered in big turds.:D
