the number on my engine is 3999289 i posted this on here about a year ago and a few people pointed me to a sight to search for it
when i did it came up as a 72-79 so i got a bit confused and i cant remember the sight that it was but now that im looking for a part for my engine i kinda need to know what the engine came form and what year if any one can give me a hand i would appriciate it

Here is Mortec that has casting info. Also look at their information location pages to find where to look for the engine ID suffix codes and partial vin.

Post any stamped information you find from top front of engine, in front of the passenger head and from above the timing chain cover area.
