My first love at age 14 was a Chevelle. I didn't have the money then in 1989 and by todays standards they were cheap. I kind of gave up on the idea until a guy at work showed me his complete ground up resto/mod he is working on. Man did that light the fire, craigs list, craigs list, ebay craigs list and ebay and then finally today purchased a 70 malibu locally in the state of Iowa. Some minor body work has been done, but the important stuff is solid and has already been replaced, wheel houses, lower quarters, rockers etc.. and hopefully not a lot of bondo. The interior is all new minus the dash.
The cool thing is when I got to my buddies house I opened the glove box and I have the original owners manual, window sticker, warranty manual, predelivery checklist signed by the tech and original owner, and pack slip. Don't know if we have a build sheet or not but anyway I am way stoked about this purchase. The window sticker says it has power disc front brakes but it doesn't it has hubs. Original motor has been swapped for a 305 but has a powerglide in it. So all in all I got me a driver that looks good and now I can save up for some ponies and a frame off down the road.
Now if I need to change my login ID to sjenkins70 instead of 71. (thought i had a 71 bought until the guy sold it from under me.)

By looking at the master you don't have power drum brakes either.

That would be a 1st junkyard upgrade if you plan on driving a lot.

Start looking for a booster.

Definitely getting power disc brakes first, then maybe some aftermarket wheels and tires then a motor. Possibly a BB396 or a sb 383
