need help figuring out a problem with the wifes minivan (i know, i know). its an 05 town and country 3.8. Just replaced the alternator because the pulley was bad on the old, New battery, clamps are clean connections tight. When you turn the key the engine will make about half a revolution then the starter just clicks. If we wait a few seconds and try again it will start. been doing this often and on for a couple months. also the door locks and remote no longer work, every time the car starts the needles on the gauges flip all the way to the left then slowly come back, after the reach the stop pins the start working normally. any ideas or re-occurring issues that can help me fix this

Quality Chrysler Electrical systems. It sounds like the starter relay may be going bad or one of the other relays that sends power throughout the system.

Ken,
First thing I would do is check all of the ground connections. Any that you can see, take them loose, clean them and tighten them back up.

Planning on checking all connections. Been reading on a mini van website. apprently these are prone to corrosion inside the battery cables. there are 2 positive and 2 negative both only 6gauge. they are impoosible to replace as the are integrated into a sealed harness. I think I might add 2 more of each in 1 gauge and try to piggy back them with the others, not sure yet I neeed to do some digging and see where everything goes.

My first thought was corroded cables, but that is usually taken care of when a new battery is installed.

If your door locks and remote don't work along with the gauge problem, there will be a code coming up when hooked up to the DRB machine.
