: The northern California Chevelle Get Together
Chuck Mar 26th, 09, 10:19 AM Don’t forget to register for the upcoming northern California “Chevelle Get Together” at Sacramento Raceway Park on Saturday April 4th sponsored by Team Chevelle and Sacramento Raceway Park. Here is the link to event info. http://www.chevelles.com/wccg/
I just received a shipment of cup, key chains and other goodies from Al and Dot and I will be there to give away some great prizes and to represent Team Chevelle. I'd love to meet you! Nor-Cal ChevelleCaminos has decided to make this an official club event so tons of people will be there and based on the number of sign ups so far this will be a huge success. Since many of us from the Bay area will be making the trek to South Sacramento for the fun and food here is how you can join us. This event is open to all Chevelle and El Camino lovers.
Here are some of the travel details. We will meet at the Starbucks in Pleasanton at the corner of Bernal and Valley, across from the Alameda County Fairgrounds (the old Rings location). We will leave at 9am SHARP! And cruise to Highway 99 and Yosemite Avenue in Manteca where we will meet the San Joaquin Valley folks, probably at In-N-Out Burger. We will leave Manteca at 10:00 SHARP and should arrive at Sacramento Raceway Park at about 11am for a great day of fun, no-host BBQ, show and shine, new friends and racing all day. At only ten bucks to get in (for non-racers), how can you lose? Be sure to bring something to throw on the BBQs.
Send me an Email or PM if you have any questions. This will be a lot of fun! Check out the event page here on Team Chevelle using the link above.

Let me know when you are coming in the gate. I'd like to be there to listen. Lots of sign ups so far. I can't wait. I think this will be a huge annual event. Lots of Bay area folks are coming up with us. Some are even getting hotel rooms so they can stay late.

Very cool Craig! We will be looking for you. Be sure to check in on the event site here on TC so they know how many BBQs to set up. http://www.chevelles.com/wccg/
By the way guys, don't stay away just because your car is on blocks. This will be a big no host BBQ and a lot of fun meeting Chevelle and El Camino folks from all over N Cal. Bring the family grocery getter and join us for the day. It's only $10.00 to get in if you are not racing. It will be a kick in the pants! Here is all the info on the event:

Beaux Mar 27th, 09, 12:42 PM I would caravan up with you guys from manteca but I just wont be able to take being on the highway in an awesome caravan of chevelles....driving my darn GMC truck.
I wouldnt be able to steer and drive through the tears and yelling the whole way "I WANT MY CAR!!!!"
Going to be hard enough at the track. I wont be able to take all the turning heads, slowing traffic and thumbs up.
Chuck Mar 27th, 09, 12:52 PM Noooo, we want you to come with us. I'll give you a walkie talkie and you can bring up the rear and make sure we don't lose anyone. LOL. See you at In-N-Out Burger.

:D
I have to get up there a bit earlier than the majority so I can help Scott with set up and whatever else I can throw in on before everyone arrives. My wife also wants to get a layout of the "land" for her photography and she wants to help set up (she likes working for some reason) lol
So I will likely be up in Sac before you guys depart Manteca. Going to be one heck of a fun trip and event!:beers:
Chuck Mar 27th, 09, 1:53 PM Party foul!!!! I called it the wrong name. I'm just a rookie here LOL.
Actually the name of the event is the West Coast Chevelle Gathering, which means that everyone on the west coast (OK, the U.S.) is invited.

66SS 138 Mar 27th, 09, 1:58 PM Will there be shirts at the event ? Sure would like to get one of them. After reading all of the posts, I know I am late on ordering, or am I ? seems this event is growing by leaps and bounds. Great job..

We will be taking orders for event shirts at the Gathering. Unfortunately, as this is our first year, we just didn't have enough history to predict turn-out and how many shirts people would want etc in time to make a bulk purchase in advance. We already did one order so you'll see a few there.
You can see pics of the groovy "Flamed SS Stripes" event logo (that I designed:D) in the other thread in the "Cruiz-Ins" forum. We have T's and ladies tanks at $25 ea and Polo shirts at $30. (add $3 for 2XL, 3XL etc) T's have small "WCCG" logo on left front and large "West Coast Chevelle Gathering 2009" on the back. Ladies tanks have a large "WCCG" centered on the front only and the polo's have the small "WCCG" on the left front only.
No harm no foul Chuck. This thing called the West Coast Chevelle Gathering is new to all of us.
Alan Mar 27th, 09, 6:29 PM Chuck: My wife and I will meet you guys at In-N-Out in Manteca. Hopefully I can time it correctly!
Scott: Is it $10/car or $10/person to get into Sac Raceway if you're not racing?
I need to find my little car show sign that reads: "Laugh all you want; it's paid for and it made it here" :p
THORSS70 Mar 27th, 09, 8:12 PM Al and Beaux, Reta was asking if Jamie and Jirina were showing, she wil be happy they are. It's pretty boring listening to us gab about speed and Chevelles for so long ya know :)
I booked the room last night, I am good to go at the Marriot at Iron Point that night. Bev Mo anyone, room party later????
Chuck, looking forward to driving up with everyone that morning.....It's going to be a sight to see all of those Chevelles on the freeway
Next year there will be a bad arse black on black '70 pro touring leading the way ;) Right Beaux?
Oh, Al, if you get in town on time, stop here in turlock and make the ride up with us eh :)

You know I can't tell you how excited I am. We all meet here on TC, some of us for many years, and we've never even met. Scott has put so much work into this and I am thrilled to see it coming together. Other parts of the country have major Chevelle events. Even So. California has the ACES Regionals, but up here we have never had a major...until now.
I can't wait to meet everyone. Hopefully you will join us for the cruise up to the event (with or without your Chevelle or El Camino). Details of the cruise at at the beginning of this thread. More later.
Chuck
SEJ-66 Mar 28th, 09, 8:22 PM I'll be there. I have not meet anyone from TC yet, it will be great to meet some members. Can't bring my car yet as it's not running and it's not too pretty right now.
Eric.
Chuck Mar 28th, 09, 11:09 PM Great news Eric! We'll be looking for you. You don't need your car to come.
Here are the latest details on the cruise to the West Coast Chevelle Gathering. THIS IS A CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS INFO SO PLEASE MAKE NOTE:
A group from the south Bay will be coming up to Pleasanton and will meet us at the Starbucks at Valley and Bernal in Pleasanton (I-680 & Bernal) arriving at 8am. We will leave for Manteca to meet the San Joaquin Valley folks at 8:15 sharp so don't be late. We should arrive at the In-N-Out Burger at 99 and Yosemite in Manteca at 9am and will leave immediately so I suggest you get there a little early.
From there we will all cruise together up highway 99 to Sacramento Raceway Park and we expect to arrive at the West Coast Chevelle Gathering by 10:00. I am told they will be filming the parade as we enter the track.
More details will be available throughout the week on the "Chevelle Information List", a Nor-Cal ChevelleCaminos (FREE) email list that you can join by clicking this link. http://nor-cal.chevelles.net/contact_info.htm I am the only one who can send emails from the list so you will NOT get any spam and we don't give addresses to anyone. If you are cruising to the Chevelle Gathering with us I strongly suggest that you subscribe to the Chevelle Information List. Did I mention that it's free???
If you are attending and haven't already done so, please check in on the official Gathering site and click "Count me in" at the bottom of the page. http://www.chevelles.com/wccg/
See you next Saturday.

Chuck Apr 3rd, 09, 2:57 AM One final note, I will have lots of give-aways including Team Chevelle coffee cups, key chains, special monogrammed Team Chevelle WCCG hats and even a couple of Nor-Cal ChevelleCaminos monogrammed polo shirts. It’s only ten bucks to get in to the Gathering “show and shine” and you’ll have access to the BBQ so scrounge up some gas money and cash in those aluminum cans because life is too short NOT to be driving your Chevelle. Temps are expected to be near 70.
Don’t forget to bring something to drink and something to throw on the BBQs. If you are attending and haven't already done so, please check in on the official Gathering site on Team Chevelle and click "Count me in" at the bottom of the page. http://www.chevelles.com/wccg/
See you on Saturday morning.

Better than half the cars belonged to non-members from the Valley. It was so great to meet so many new friends and the folks at the track were amazing! What a blast!
