Need help figuring out what the last number in my rear axle tube code (1970 Chevelle) means:

CRV 1223B1

CRV is 3:31 Posi
1223 is December 23
B is Buffalo plant

What is the final 1 for?

In '71 they started adding the shift (1,2,3) that the rear was assembled. The '1' could be for first shift.

Thanks...that is what I was going to guess. I believe the CRV code was only stamped in 1970 and I was told my axle was original by the previous owner.
