Guys,

I have a '71 Firebird Formula 400 that I am restoring (I know, its a Pontiac but will look nice next to my Chevelle when finished).
I bought it in non-running condition and am trying to figure out why there are so many fuel lines. Here's what I have:

1 fuel line going from drivers side tank to vent box(?) behind rear seat, then up to the firewall, dumps out by brake booster

2 fuel lines going from passenger side of the tank to the vent box(?), back down, then mounted to passenger side of frame rails, continuing all the way up to the front wheel area, then drop under the engine and dump out just ahead of the engine, drivers side.

Can anyone help me identify these lines so that I know what is what?

Thanks and sorry if I am posting in the wrong area.

Brian

70 formula was my graduation gift. God with his wisdom took it from me so I could live.
I still love those cars. 375hp turbo 400 308 gear allowed it to go way to fast for the judgement I had at 18. The only thing I have today from the car is the 12 bolt which is in my 57 chevy. Cant help with the vent hoses, but couldnt help myself from saying hello sharing a story and wishing you well on the project.

I forgot to note, this car was originally from California, which may be the reason for so many fuel lines - one could be an unburnt fuel return line? and one an fuel pump/over pressurized system return line? What do you guys think?

If anyone has any ideas on this please let me know - I was thinking about asking over on the Camaro board as they might know.
Thanks,
Brian
