Hi guys ! Thank you for letting me in.
I recently bought a 396 to put in my Chevelle, with the following stamping: T0213CTW 10A137571
This is a 350 hp engine from a -70 Chevelle built in Atlanta, right ?
But can you tell me what body style it was ordered in ?
Thanks

Hello Anders,
The CTW coded engine was used in Chevelles, Novas, and Camaros. As you indicated, this one was installed in a vehicle in Atlanta (Lakewood) so it could only have been installed in a Chevelle. The L34 (350HP) engine was the base engine for the Z25 Super Sport package which was only available in the 13637 Malibu 2-dr Spt Coupe, 13667 Malibu Convertible, or the 13680 Custom El Camino. El Caminos were not built at Atlanta, so the only two possibilities are the coupe and convertible. It is not possible to tell which from the information on the engine.
Looks like you have a nice collection. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Thank you Bruce !
Doesn´t the #1 in 10A give any clue to the body style, or what does it mean ?
Well I have had twentyfive years to gather these cars. The Chevy II cars are basketcases, but a factory discbrake and a factory 327 two door sedan should be restored. I´ll do that the next twentyfive years !

I believe the 10A breaks down like this:
1 = Chevrolet Division
0 = Last digit of the model year (70)
A = Assembly Plant (Atlanta)

Has to be a Chevelle engine as in 1970 that was the only Chevrolet model being assembled at GMAD Atlanta also known as Lakewood (part of city plant was located in)
