Hello,
I noticed in the factory assembly manual (UPC 11/13, B2) it shows sound deadner applied to the inside of the optional steel inner fenders. I was wondering if this is correct. I have found that the assembly manual is not always accurate.
My 1970 SS is an Arlington car built in 04E if it matters.

My ss Chevelle is also from Arlington with an 01B build date and it has undercaoating applied to both front and rear inner fender wheel wells along with the front of the transmission tunnel.

Boy,I remember undercoating cars at the Chevy store when I was in high school! At the time the customers wanted to see that crap everywhere! The thicker the better! Looking back,it probably did more harm than good.

According to the assembly manual, the front fenderwells are to have a sound deadener application from about the center of the well, to the lower rear area. My Atlanta built 70 had it in that exact area.

The Balitmore built 70 that I have didn't have it, but the one Atlanta car I had like Dave mentioned did have it. My Flint built 70 also had it.

Tom- did the Balto car have plastic inners like most Balto cars did?

Yes indeed. I probably should have kept them for the time being, but I trashed them because they were so busted up. They also had MADE IN CANADA cast into them.
