For example, who posts things on e-bay (expensive things sometimes) seemingly without a 4th grade level of grammar? I've been sick the past few days, so I'm trolling and dreaming, and am amazed by how poorly written some of these ads are. I understand misspellings and grammatical errors on a message board, or somewhere that you're typing fast and unconcerned about details, but if I'm trying to sell a car I don't want to come off as Cooter from the Dukes of Hazzard! Ever hear of proofreading?!? Maybe it's just the Ny-Quil talking, but its seems to be getting worse.

How about the ads with few photos or really crappy photos or no photos at all for an expensive and/or rare item? I sure as heck am not going to lay down serious money for something I can't at least visually review first. That's a heck of a way to sell your Camero parts!

Honestly, how hard is it to correctly spell the model name of the car, chances are it's spelled out somewhere on the car itself....

Where in Nebraska are you from?

I agree but I think we have to realize that some people are really doing the best that they can.
Pretty hard for us perfect folks to do, I know. :D

Ha ha ha I know, unfortunately, this happens the most with the 'redneck' image cars (El Cameno/Camino, Camero/Camaro) and does little to combat the stereotype. I'm in rural Northeastern NE, close to Norfolk, the land of tire sizes larger than the IQ of the vehicle's operator. Seriously, someone p!ssed in the gene pool around here. All I can say is I'm not from around here, I just moved here for work!

I saw an auction a couple years ago where the guy was selling a Camaro emblem and spelled it Camero. He had the emblem in front of him and still got it wrong.
One of my pet peeves is the no reserve auctions that have a high opening bid. If your opening bid is $10,000 then you have a $10,000 reserve.

My pet peave is things that are forsale that you are bidding on and suddenly at the last minute you are leading and the auction disappears........... That has happened to me all too many times.

Saying it will fit a certain year when you know it doesn't.

How simple is that, walk out to the car and copy the name off the fender.

Careful there Bubba, I've lived here my whole life. ;)

My car was originally sold new in Plainview, just west of Norfolk. The gentleman who sold the car new to his nephew is a friend of mine, I met him at a car show in West Point a number of years ago. He still lives in Norfolk. You can read about the whole story and even see a few pictures of us on my SS/L79 website, link to be found in my signature line.

One of my pet peeve is reserve auctions. When selling a vehicle don't waste my time starting the auction at a $1.00. Make it a no reserve auction and start it at a price that the first one that bids can win the auction. I then can tell within 10 seconds whether I will follow the auction or not.

I had a guy just recently looking for some parts for his CamEro and was having a hard time.
I told him he might have more luck if he looked for CamAro parts instead.
He got mad and called me a smart-a**.
*Shrug* some people just like to look like fools.

"Careful there Bubba, I've lived here my whole life."

You must be one of them that's raising the average for the rest then. I don't know anything about Waverly, but I'm in the middle of, how shall I say, "Rural" Nebraska. When the number of gravel / dirt roads leading into or out of your village outnumber the amount of paved roads, you are definitely in a 'different' culture than the mainstream. But I digress. The West Point show is a good one! I missed it last year though.

Can I suggest that you don't call it a village. You're in Nebraska, not the Amazon.

I was speaking to my wife about this...She is a high school advanced math teacher...Her response was that alot of black people will purposely do the misspelling on purpose just because, and another reason is to let other blacks know that their buying from another black person and not a whitey...Racism at it's finest with Ebonics...

I have a real problem with people who allow their pet peeves to live in the house, they stink things up. Anyone with any couth whatsoever knows that peeves belong outdoors. Be right back, gotta go take a peeve.

In Kansas and Missouri, an unincorporated "village" would be called a township.

My Ebay pet peeve is when listing a part common to all levels of a model ( say a dome light for a Chevelle) they feel it's necessary to claim it is for an LS6 or SS dome light. Sometimes I will ask send the seller a question such as If I purchase your dome light and install it on my six cylinder Chevelle will it officially make it an LS6?

In Alabama we wouldn't call it a town.....we would call it a family reunion......:D

I can't stand the large, bold face, colored, uppercase text.

I also can't stand a $100 item having "Shipping at $100" - put the reserve or Buy it Now at $100 if you want a gauranteed price.

Or the the crappy, out of focus pictures with no information descriptions that say the part is for a range of applications that ends with saying "do your home work" and they don't email you back with answers to your questions.

And the crafty ways Clones are presented to the novice - and to set the record straight there is nothing wrong with Clones.

I stop now!
