We have a couple hours on dad's new motor. The bronze distributor gear has been worn down very severely. He is running a comp cams roller. Perhaps it is one of the cams that should have a standard steel gear on it. Anybody else have trouble with a bronze gear on a comp cams roller cam?

i had this problem once . I ended up needing a distributor with a slip collar ,because the distributor was not deep enough ..

I do not have the paperwork with me. It is one of their 4/7 swap cams. Are you thinking it is one for use with a std steel gear?

Well ,only cams I'm finding with the 4/7 swap for a BBC are here:

Don't see a roller 4/7 cam but if your using a -47 cam it shows to use this gear:

Well, I know I used the 11-747-14 4/7 swap roller and I used the bronze gear with no issue.
