I found the following numbers on the pass. side flange on my TH350 where the flywheel cover mates up to it:
217080 20815
I know it's a TH350 trans. What I want to know is what year is it and what kind of car did it come out of?
Thanks.

Those numbers are of little use. Every trans will have them. You need to look for digits that are hand stamped into the case. Look all over it, there may also be a metal tag with some codes on it.
Here is an example of what hand stamped codes should look like on an engine, the trans will be somewhat different in the use of digits but the VIN derivative should be there. The engine code will not be, in place a trans code.

Those numbers were hand stamped. Itlooked similar to the stampings you've shown.
Will it look like the vin one you've got? Where else can I find?
