I've got a '66 Chevelle 2-door that needs new carpet and soundboard. The floorboard is ready to be prepped. It has some surface rust, but no rust holes.

How should I complete the prepping? What kind of tools will I need? What kind of paint and or primer? Would it be cheaper to have a body shop do the work? Any idea of what that would cost?

Any other tips, etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Heavens no dont let a shop touch it. It could come out worse than you sent it to them, like my car was left outside for 4 months by a shop. They will drain all your cash. I would use sum Por-15 and lay down fat mat sound deadner. Then put the carpet over that. BAM! your done!
