There is alot of info on conversions but i have not seen anything suggesting which systems to use or which to stay away from. I am thinking of converting my 71 Malibu from manual drums to power disk on the front only. I have looked at alot of kits that all say they furnish everything needed. Which system is suggested for normal street use? No strong cam in a 350/Th350. Will be keeping stock height spindles since the springs have already lowered the car 1". No racing, just cruising.

I recommend CPP. I put there stock kit on my 66 last spring and it really did have everything! Very helpful sales people. Helped me modify the base kit to suit my needs.Stainless lines, cross drilled rotors and smaller booster to clear BB valve covers.

So far, I've had luck with my CPP kit as well. I only have the front assembly installed, so I need to do the MC / booster and rears yet.

But like I said, so far so good! :)

What about the KORE3 kits?

If you're running 17" wheels they offer a late model Corvette conversion with a dual piston floating caliper, and 325mm rotor. That should be perfect for the weight of these cars.

I bought the KORE3 rear brake kit last week. I should get it tomorrow. I will post some pics of the kit when I get.

As far as CPP goes. I recently found out something interesting about CPP's big brake kit. They use their own CPP rotor. That means that you can not go to pep boys and buy an A/C delco ( ACD ) rotor like the KORE3 kit uses.

I personally think that, that is pretty messed up of CPP not to tell people of this info.

I used Inline tube for my kit on a 69 convertible. Everything fit with no problems. The thing I liked about this kit is that is year specific for a 69 So if i need anything in the future, just go to parts store and get 69 parts! Some kits are S-10 and metric. -- Bruce
