My car is one of the last 66 chevelles built in Balt. I am trying to figure out what day it was built. they built 8,639 in July, Did they work 5 days a week? Night shift? 4th of July? any body know? I must have to much time on my hands to think about this. My car was 665 from the end of production. Thanks Don

I think in the mid to late 60s plants were working 5 day, 2 shifts a day. Some plants built other GM cars besides Chevelles so their numbers may be a little lower than others and some plants weren't a large as others.
Examples for 1966: Atlanta reportedly built 95,611 Chevelles, Baltimore 88,331, Flint 47,455, Framingham 38, 111, Fremont 59,074, and KC 118,051.
Using a 16-hr work day and 5 days a week, Baltimore built an average of 380 a day in May, 385 in June, and 396 in July.
See http://www.chevellecd.com/66cd/index.htm and click Quick Decoding then Production Numbers ...or... Documentation then Production Numbers for a fun look at the plants.

So with those #'s my car was built the next to last day of production of 66. Thanks Don

No car was built in one day, it took 2-3 days for completion.

And...the sequence numbers were assigned before assembly was started. It'd be more correct to say your car was sequenced on the next to last day - assuming GM's reported numbers are valid. Either way, still kinda cool to have one of the last ones built.

So does it have any "67" chevelle parts on it? Like the dash or steering column?

It looks like everything they used was 66, all engine parts and most dates were (E + F 6) May and June 66. I think I have the devil car, a 66, most parts from 6 66 with a vin ending in 666. That may be good or bad, I have been told 66 chevelles are really bad!
